Tips to helping a working mom
In the beginning when returning back to work many of you all know that was not an easy adjustment for me. I missed my babies, I was struggling and still some what am to get back to ME, and just really learning all over again how to be a working mom of two kids. It was a tough struggle and now that I am 6 months in I feel like I am finally getting the hang of things. Although it hasn’t been perfect, I mean what ever is perfect lol I have been using these tips below and slowly adding new ones as I get consistent in them. Keep in mind we are all different, what works for me may not work for you. If you are new mom, expecting mom, or planning to have babies I am hoping my top three tips to helping a working mom below help you out. Keep reading to the end of this post, I have a surprise for y’all.

WORKING MOM TIPS


1. Utilize a family calendar or schedule – This is very important to our day to day lives. Between each of us working corporate jobs and each having our own business we have to stay on the same page. It’s easy for us to get caught up working and lose track of time. I found that using a family calendar app on my phone helps us stay connected. Listing a few recommendations below.

Individual time with your kids – I have started this since Kru was born. Typically we go once a month for mani/pedis. It is her absolute favorite thing to do with me. I challenged my husband to start spending quality one on one time with her as well so they go to brunch once a month. When Kru is older we will start doing this with him. It really is the best to see how happy your children are when they get the one on one time with you.
2. Self-care- I have made an adjustment with this in my routine here the last few months. I started going to Orange Theory and let me tell you, it has helped me not on physically but mentally. I am just in a better head space since working out. Make sure you schedule time out of your week for YOU. You deserve it.
3. Weekly Family Night – Ours is typically Friday nights, we have been picking a movie and ordering pizza every Friday night. It kind of just fell into our routine and we absolutely love it, especially Mia.

I have come to learn and realize here lately that I cannot do everything. This was a tough pill to swallow when I was adjusting, I was used to doing it all and making sure it was done my way. Lol. I am sure we can all relate. I am hoping these tips will help you out!
