Hi lovelies! I am here to finally share all the details to Mia’s first birthday! We had a super simple but fun birthday party at the house for her first birthday! We had so many friends and family join us to celebrate this milestone. We SURVIVED the first year!! I am so happy I can say that, I enjoy every minute of being this sweet little girls mom. So, let’s get to the details!

Mia’s birthday theme was “Wild One” and I found this theme on Pinterest. I’m not exaggerating when I say I planned this theme since Mia was like 2 weeks old. I just fell in love with it and Mia grew into her own little person the theme just fit her. All of the decorations I made i.e. the Wild One Sign, the Teepee, the mason jars, etc. there were some items I purchased for decorations from hobby lobby, but I didn’t spend a fortune on this party. Like I said it was a super simple birthday party, so we had pizza, snacks, lemonade, and cake for the guest. I did mini s’more kits for the kids as their party favor which was a huge hit! Even some adults to a few extras home with them. I ordered Mia’s birthday outfit and her sign from a shop on Etsy. These two items were a huge hit at her party! I tried so hard to get her to take a picture by her sign, but she wasn’t having it, she just started walking two days before her birthday and wanted to be playing with the big kids. I ordered her birthday cake from Kroger and it was super cute and delicious! We went with the “Naked Cake” and I had the decorator add the coral drizzle on top to match the colors of the decorations. I made mine and my husbands shirts as well to go with the theme. They said, “Mama of the wild one” and “Dad of the wild one”.

Lastly, one of my favorite parts of her birthday party was the time capsule. If you saw the picture above I set up an area when you first walk in to leave Mia a note, advice, or even a prayer for her and put it in the jar. The catch is, she can’t open the jar until 2036 when she turns 18. I think this will be such a great memory to have and to see her go through these when she’s older to see and feel how loved she is.

XO,
Shay
