1 year blog anniversary! What I have learned and advice for new bloggers

1 year blog anniversary! What I have learned and advice for new bloggers

Good morning loves and happy Friyay! Wow! One year ago today I hit publish on my first blog post and made a decision to share my life with you all. Thank you for being so supportive of my blog by reading it and/or engaging on my posts. As you all know from when I first launched my blog I was nervous, nervous as to what people would think and if people would even take the time to read what I wrote. You all have helped me overcome that nervousness that I had and helped me grow what is now Life to Shay! I cannot tell you how much that means to me, I started this blog while I was on maternity leave with my baby girl Mia and what really pushed me to go ahead and take the leap was that I was really bored at home and needed something I was passionate about to keep me moving. I am so used to working 50+ hours a week at my job that being home for 11 weeks was definitely different for me. This helped me step out on faith and start something I have always wanted to do but just couldn’t get myself to do it.

Before I really get into what I have learned and any advice that I want to give I want to make sure to let you know that I am not an expert in this, I am still learning and growing in the influencer/blogging community. I know everyone’s paths are different and many of us have different experiences when we first start out blogging.

Alright, now let’s get started!

I have learned so much in my first year of blogging and yes I made many mistakes along the way. I sometimes think… man if I would’ve just known about this or that I would be so much further along than I am now. But then I take a step back and have to tell myself that its all in a process. You can’t just stand up and start running; you have to learn how to walk first. I keep telling myself baby steps lol. I have learned that you need to have faith and believe in yourself. If you say you can’t then you won’t get as far as you want to go. You must put in the extra work to make something you’re passionate about successful. If that means you work a full time job and you have to stay up late at night to work on your passion then do. You have to put the work in, it is not going to just fall into your hands.

I have one piece of advice for you all. This will apply to everyone in any kind of situation. You don’t have to be a new blogger or influencer to take this advice…

BE YOU!

Yes, it’s that simple! BE YOU! Only YOU can be the BEST YOU! Don’t try to be someone your not, people will see right through it. People love REAL and RAW. You got this!

So now go after whatever it is that you’ve been wanting to do but haven’t had the faith to do it!
BE YOU and BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!
XO,
Shay

It’s so funny, I started my blog while on maternity leave as well because I was bored and wanted an outlet to be creative! Happy 1 year to you and to many more!

Yes, it’s so important to be yourself! I started my blog when I was pregnant with my youngest and it was a great way to keep my writing skills in tact!
